On Friday, we went on a field trip to the MSUM science center at Buffalo River State Park. It was a lot of fun. We were there over 2 hours, but we’d like to go again and take even more time on the trail exploring. It was interesting to me to see the river bank erosion and what I call mini-glaciers from the ice that had been on the river that got pushed onto the land. So I included a couple pictures of those things for you too :) And without further ado, here’s some of the kids!
Climbing the “mountains” in Moorhead- flat land as far as the eye can see!! And bird watching from inside the center.
Ewww, a dead pocket gopher (in the container the guy is holding) and mounds on the ground.
Second image is of deer and other animal tracks (sorry, Oliver, no Emu tracks.)
Cool moss!
Wolf hide and pointy claws!
Here’s the mini-glaciers and riverbank erosion.
